Among the stars who sang his songs are Julio Iglesias, Nana Mouskouri, Udo Jürgens, Silver Convention, Penny McLean, Mireille Mathieu, Peggy March, Adamo, Herbie Mann, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge, Johnny Logan, Tony Christie, Cliff Richard, Charles Aznavour, Caterina Valente, Michael Crawford, Lulu, Daliah Lavi, Milva, Gilbert Becaud and many more.

Michael received numerous awards for his work as a lyricist, such as 58 gold and 25 platinum records, a Grammy® and an Echo® Lifetime Award. Some of his songs have become standards in Europe (Griechischer Wein) and the US (Fly, Robin, Fly).

Today Michael works mainly for the musical stage, and regards his songwriting for the pop market as a closed chapter of his career.
